Steps you can take before a slow drain becomes clogged.

When you notice that your water is draining out slower than normal, the next problem to rise is usually a clogged drain. This is usually caused by hair or soap build up and can be addressed in one or two ways. Liquid Drano and the others that share the shelf with it can be considered hazardous so here’s a couple of alternatives.

Take a metal wire hanger and straighten it out so that you can send it down the drain. Twist the hanger while pulling it out so that you can remove the hair strands and debris. Boil some water and pour it down the drain after you’ve repeated the first step as many times as necessary or until you pull the hanger out and it has no hair strands upon it. If the hot water doesn’t do the trick boil an additional pot of hot water and grab a 1/2 cup of baking soda along with an 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Start by placing spoons of the 1/2 cup of baking soda in the drain and then follow by pouring 1/2 cup of white vinegar down the drain. Allow to fizz for a moment as it will loosen any debris sitting in the pipes. Get the water you’ve got boiling and pour it into the drain.

This process should help in preventing your drain from becoming a clogged drain which will usually results in calling a plumber. Nothing against plumbers, my friends are plumbers yet none of us have money to throw down the drain.
